Michel Peiry is said to have committed as many as 11 murders in the 1980s. He’s also known as the Sadist of Romont, or the Swiss Hitchhiker Killer. He picked up teenage hitchhikers, restrained them, beat them, sexually assaulted them, and then burned their bodies. Some of his victims were burnt alive. When he was arrested he said that he was glad police caught him, because he didn’t think he’d be able to stop otherwise. He advised the police to lock him up and throw away the key.
