125. The Sadist of Romont | Switzerland
The Sadist of Romont, Michel Peiry had been linked – with at least 11 murders between 1981 and 1987. He’s been described as the Swiss backpacker killer, because of his choice of victim. He picked up young hitchhikers, restrained them, beat them, sexually assaulted them, and then burn their bodies. Some of his victims were burnt alive. When he was arrested he said that he was glad police caught him, because he didn’t think he’d be able to stop otherwise. He even advised the police to make sure he was never released.
