In March 2005, college student Inge Lotz was brutally murdered in her apartment in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
When she was discovered, she was seated upright on her sofa where she had been paging through a magazine. There was a copious amount of blood covering her head and face and she was almost unrecognizable. At first, it looked as though she had committed suicide. But Inge had been bludgeoned to death.
Police arrived on the scene, and what followed ended up being one of South Africa’s most controversial cases ever.
